Because it is now or never! The next decade will define our future - if we have one.

Also, we at Suste deeply care about health and sustainability. The core of Suste is to empower sustainable change and make sustainable living the norm. By working together and considering all the complexities at play, we can change the food, health, and ecological systems needed for a better world for all life.

Similar to the approach to weight loss – food, health, and sustainability behaviour change has been focused on treating the symptoms. The science is clear and we are told by Governmental departments such as the UK’s NHS, WHO, UN, Lancet, World Resource Institute, and WWF that we all need to reduce our overeating, reduce our animal-protein consumption, and consume red meat very infrequently for both health and sustainability benefits worth up to $31 TRILLION per YEAR by 2050. Yet, all attempts have failed so far because people do not change with information alone.

The expert recommendations require more than a billion people in the developed world to adopt these healthy and sustainable behaviours for us to have a chance to mitigate the climate crisis, secure food safety for all, and avoid millions of deaths from preventable diseases. Clearly, this is a wicked multi-system problem that needs a multi-system approach to get a billion people to change.

Behaviour change is hard. Long-term benefit behaviour change is extremely hard. The rising prevalence of overweight and obese people and the impending climate crisis are terrifying evidence of this. There isn’t enough being done right now and the longer we leave it, the harder and more costly it becomes. We want to be the catalyst that sparks individual change as we think this is the only way to create the systemic global change required. Our mission is to embed sustainability into every aspect of human life.
